Image of back of two hands in the foreground that have letters written with a thick marker from the left pinky nail all the way to the right pinky nail. There is nothing written in the left index. The letters spell out the word “I am enough.” This was an image used for its powerful message as it helps to drive the point home that we do not need others to give us self-confidence, self-esteem, or self-worth. It is also a message that helps to combat feelings of loneliness and depression.

Living with Depression….

Is Happiness out there?

Can we find happiness or is it just an illusion?  In a world where we see picture perfect lives on movie screens, have we been fooled that there is a world out there that surpasses anything we know or have felt? Are we measuring our happiness based on idealized views of what we believe is happiness? If so, how much of ourselves do we lose in the process? After all, what’s right for some may not be right for others.

Everyone Feels The Same

The truth is depression is heavy and at times brings us to our knees. It shows no mercy and does not discriminate between class, religion, race, culture, or sexual orientation.  Are some of us more prone than others based on these factors? Of course. And no, I do not believe in comparing one’s pain against another’s. Everyone hurts the same and feels Just as intensely.

What Makes Depression Unhealthy?

Most of us have at  some point in our lives, felt sad, down, and depressed.   As humans, it is natural to have these feelings in response to our environment or situation. When we get to a point where we are stuck, have poor coping skills, and no longer able to function, we must ask ourselves if maybe there is a better solution out there.

Can Therapy Help?

At the core of it, most people suffer from lowered self-esteem, self-worth, self-confidence, or feel they have no control over their situation. It is here where I feel I can make the most difference.

For me, everyone is unique. As a result, it makes sense that a cookie cutter approach to depression may not be right for everyone. In my experience, learning what works and what does not work yields more successful results. Where ever you are, I will work with you to help find balance and peace.

This photo is an image of the beach with blue skies and clouds. A shapeless sun pierces through the clouds and in through the waves and onto a golden sandy shore, which is in the bottom foreground of the picture. The image is utilized due to its ability create a sense of peace, love, happiness, and joy, which are all things that are useful to combat depression.

I offer tela-therapy, telephone, and in-person sessions. On a limited basis, I offer in-home services
